01Plan the work

People, roles and time.

02Understand the costs

Budget, forecast and margin.

03Prepare the quote

Connected to your project.

See how it connects

Less spreadsheet upkeep. More time for the project.

When the brief changes, your numbers need to keep up. Tally brings the plan, costs and quote into one connected workflow.

01 / RESOURCE PLANNING

One plan.
Daily, weekly or monthly.

Get into the daily detail or step back to see the month. Each view draws on the same plan, so you spend less time keeping separate sheets in sync.

  • Allocate full days or fractions
  • Move between detailed and wider views
  • Keep the total planned effort connected
Join the waiting list

The resource plan moves between daily, weekly and monthly views. Daily shows the first week; weekly and monthly show October. The complete project remains 36 planned days.

02 / COSTS & MARGIN

See what a change
means for your budget.

An extra day has a cost. See it in the forecast as you adjust the plan, with your remaining budget and projected margin in view.

  • Work towards a fixed fee or build an estimate
  • Use internal costs and selling rates
  • See resource time and allowances together

Fixed fee example: an extra producer day at £350 increases forecast cost from £14,400 to £14,750. The £24,000 budget stays fixed. Remaining budget becomes £9,250 and margin becomes 38.5%.

03 / CLIENT QUOTES

Your quote.
Connected to the plan.

Bring your planned work and allowances into a clear client quote. When the estimate changes, the numbers flow through without rebuilding a separate document.

  • Present the scope by project stage
  • Choose how to show allowances
  • Print or save the quote as a PDF
Join the waiting list

Estimate example: increasing an allowance selling price by £600 updates project allowances from £4,000 to £4,600 and the draft quote total from £24,000 to £24,600. Previously exported PDFs do not update.

you cost a project.

Dashboards

See your project budget, forecast costs and projected margin together, so the financial picture stays clear.

Rate cards

Keep internal costs and selling rates together, then tailor the rates to each project.

Daily, weekly & monthly views

Move from daily detail to the bigger picture. Every view draws on the same resource plan.

Currency conversions

Present converted figures alongside your quote, using an exchange rate you control.

Custom stages

Organise the work into stages that match your project, from first concepts through to delivery.

Share & export quotes

Turn the plan into a clear client quote. Print or save it as a PDF, ready to share with your client.

From first estimate to client quote

through the numbers.

Start with the work you need to deliver. Keep the financial picture alongside it.

  1. Set your starting point

Create your project, set the dates and choose a fixed budget or an estimate built from the work.

  2. Put the team in the plan

Add roles, apply rates and allocate time. Include the allowances the project needs.

  3. Bring the quote together

Review the forecast, refine the scope and prepare a client quote from the same project.

Why I built Tally

From one producer
to another.

“I built Tally from my own experience planning and costing creative projects. I wanted a clearer way to keep the resource plan, budget and client quote connected as projects change, with less time spent maintaining separate spreadsheets.”Founder of Tally
